There’s a mouse in the house

I’m dealing with what seems to be a fucking genius mouse.

It keeps going into the humanitarian trap and eating the bait without ever tripping the door. And I don’t know how it’s doing it.

Every other mouse has gone in, stepped onto the trip plate, and boom. A free ride to living outside. Where rodents belong.

But this one guy? Naw.

At this point I feel like all I’m doing is feeding the mouse.

It’s frustrating and infuriating and I’m reaching the point where the mouse has to die. Like, I’d prefer to throw it outside, but this guy. This guy is not taking the hint. And it’s getting bolder and bolder with running around and taunting me.

Disgusting little monster.

It doesn’t know that my next step is to buy one of those executioner traps that release a deadly electrical shock.

I don’t want to kill the little guy, but it has to go.

  1. Years ago there was a mouse I saw so much I started thinking of it as my little buddy. I’d open a cupboard door and there it was sitting up and staring at me. And it kept climbing up the lamp cord and sitting on the back edge of my desk, watching me. After a while it stopped showing up, so I guess my cat ate it.
There was another mouse, obviously pregnant, that I surprised in the bathroom after I shut the door. She panicked and ran to the door, and started frantically jumping up it trying to get out. Then she finally managed to squeeze her fat belly underneath it. I guess I could have stomped her, but I didn’t have the heart.

    1. I don’t want to kill the mice because it’s not their fault that they’re horrifying pests. BUT… This dude is bold.

He seems to honestly think he’s a house pet or something. I’ve caught him sitting somewhere, and he’ll just stay there looking at me before sauntering away. He’s constantly eating the free food I’m giving him in the humanitarian trap.

He’s an asshole. And I’m about a week away from giving him a name.

Why do they have to be so cute? Disgusting vermin.
