I had a YouTube video playing in the background while I was trying to write… and I found myself getting mad. Because it was about the Christians of Instagram, and I quickly found myself talking back to the videos being commented on.

Like a woman was standing in a packed airplane sermonizing at the other trapped passengers. And she kept going on and on about how "Jesus loves you" and I was just like "I know he loves me. But he hates you. You’re going to HELL!"

And I’ve said before that I’m an agnostic.

I don’t not believe in God. I hold the possibility that there’s higher powers out there that created the universe and everything in it. That there’s some grand plan that humanity is meant to be following. I am open to that possibility.

I simply don’t believe that any human being has all the answers.

And if there’s someone out there that’s telling other people that they have all the answers and that only if you follow what they say will you go to Heaven, I don’t believe that person is a good person. They are a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They are a predator preying upon the weaknesses and fears of other people for their own benefit.

Why?

Because if they were truly Christians, they would not be such assholes.

The very idea that the only reason to be kind and moral and empathetic toward other people is fear that you’re going to be sent to Hell? Then you’re not a good person. You are not going to Heaven.

It is disgusting that there’s a subcult of Christianity that believes that active pedophilia is no big deal as long as the person apologizes afterward. That someone can forcibly marry a CHILD and that that child is and should be required to perform "their spousal duties."

NO.

"But people in Olden Times used to marry much younger and it was no big deal. That one princess married the king when she was 12 years old and it was all good times forever!!!"–Fuck off. They would have a public wedding that they wouldn’t consummate for years and years afterward. And the one guy that got real forceful with his queen when she was very young? She HATED him for the rest of their lives and regularly physically attacked him every time she saw him.

Why do you want to spend a good chunk of your life with someone that HATES you? Having to fear at any moment that they’re going to poison your food or mutilate your genitals while you’re asleep? Someone that resents every breath you take and wishes that you would stop. Breathing. Being alive. Existing on the same plane of existence as a living person.

"But Christianity is about suffering!"–Who said? Your weird cult leader?

Jesus is about love. And I don’t mean a "He loves you unless you’re gay, or you get an abortion, or you masturbate, or you don’t vote the way the group wants you to." Because I’m sorry, man, but you’ve been taught the Holy Bible wrong.

Masturbation does not equal bad. There was a whole deeper backstory to the Onan situation that involved inheritance and property laws. He didn’t want to impregnate his widowed sister-in-law because once she had a male child, that child–and thus her–would inherit all of his father’s property in the name of his brother. Legally speaking, the child he helped create would be his brother’s child. And he didn’t want to give up either his kid or the inheritance he would receive as the now eldest living son.

The whole voting thing? Brah, there’s a whole Rotten Mango series about Ruby Franke, and if you watch it, you get an idea of what those spreading apocalypse cultists believe.

Someone wrote a book that said the end of the world would start with an unstoppable plague, and then the collapse of all financial institutions, and then there would be unstoppable storms that would wipe out whole countries.

They are PURPOSEFULLY causing climate change because THEY WANT THE END OF THE WORLD TO HAPPEN.

In their heads, they fully believe that if the end of the world happens, THEY will go to heaven. They are so full of pride, that they don’t even consider the idea that they won’t get into Heaven.

And it’s like, "Dude, you reek of wrath, greed, lust, envy, and sloth. You are wrapped up in the pride that you are amazing and wonderful and God loves you more than anyone else. And it’s to the point that you secretly glory in the idea that YOU, the Chosen One, will be raised up and adulated while all those around you will die in screaming agony. And you want that to happen, because you hate them for living their lives in a way YOU don’t like."

During the pandemic, they DID NOT WANT COVID TO BE STOPPED. They thought it was the first step in the end of the world. They were looking around at all the death and suffering and the misery and grief, and they were laughing.

They were disappointed that a vaccine was created. Not because vaccines are against God, but because they wanted everyone to die because they’re evil people.

I don’t believe in demons in the sense of spiritual monsters that take over humans and force them to do things they don’t want to do.

But I do believe that some people are demons. They choose to be evil and do horrible things because they like it.

If they’re given a little money, they use that money to oppress and punish other people.

If they’re given political power, they use that power to steal money and ruin the environment and just basically be horrible people.

There are demons amongst us. It’s just that they’re fellow human beings that don’t know how to live in a society. They don’t know how to work with other people and create a better world because they don’t want one.

They want slavery and misery and poverty around them because it feels good to them to think that they are better than other people. I mean, if everyone is equal, how can you lord above them?

It’s like, if there were a universal basic income (UBI) and medical for all, how are they supposed to oppress other people?

"If everyone has money and a place to live, they won’t want to work for my horrible company that treats its employees like shit."

"If everyone has money and a place to live, people won’t have to join the military for medical care and being able to go to college."

"If everyone has money and a place to live, when a family member gets a gambling addiction the whole family doesn’t have to get dragged down into poverty. And then who is going to work in our sweatshops?"

There’s a whole bunch of people that fully believe D. Trump is the antichrist. And they voted for him because they WANT the end of the world so THEY can go to Heaven.

And I’m just over here like "You’re purposefully bringing about the End Times and helping demons do demonic things, and you think YOU are going to go to Heaven?"

I remember people in St. George, Utah going to Nevada to gamble, and their favorite "cutesy" saying was "God can’t see past the gorge." So like, once they leave Utah, none of the "laws" of their religion apply to them.

They can gamble. They can drink. They can smoke. They can fuck. Whatever they want to do, as long as it’s outside of Utah… God can’t see it.

And they go to their churches once they get home. They do all their church stuff and they wear their church clothes and they walk around with their noses in the air absolutely CERTAIN that THEY will go to Heaven.

Because they think they’re special.

Or they’re just hypocrites. They don’t believe in God or any of the parts of their religion they sermonize and rub in everyone else’s faces. They just want to look good in front of their fellow church members.

I think it’s all gross.

You believe in your religion? It’s the basis of your personality and the way that you live? Fine. But keep it to yourself.

Go to church.

Donate to charities.

Get on your knees and pray before your bed every night before you go to sleep.

But shut the fuck up when you’re on a plane.

Don’t come yelling in my ear when I’m standing in a crowd of people just trying to live MY life.

You want to go on social media and make videos and try to get other people to fall into your religion? And the videos you share are LIKE THAT? Be for real. You are going to Hell, because YOU are a sinner.

You monetize your content? Greed. You want people to look at you and think you’re attractive and you use your religious beliefs to gain that attention? Vanity. You think you’re better than other people because you worship better than they do? Pride. You talk about how other people–who you don’t like–should be punished and treated horribly? Wrath. You’re constantly nitpicking the appearances of other people and trying to bring them down because you find them attractive and think you shouldn’t? Lust. You have the ability to spread useful information that will help other people live better, longer, happier lives, but you choose not to for your own benefits? Sloth. You spend your time comparing your life to other people’s lives and wish that you could have all that they have? Envy.

I have no problem with other people having religious beliefs that I don’t share.

I just really dislike hypocrites and don’t want to hear from them.

Go be a God-less Christian somewhere else. You can live your apocalypse cult fantasies BY YOURSELF. Just take yourself and your other followers and go move to the deserts of Arizona or Utah and live in your compounds shut off from the rest of the world.

I understand that some people feel silly for all their doomsday prepping. They refocused their entire lives to prepare for the end of the world, and if it doesn’t happen then they feel as though they wasted their whole lives. I get it.

But you have a lot of food and supplies that you can eat and use RIGHT NOW. And then you save the money you have from not having to buy groceries to go on a trip–though hopefully not to Disneyland, since that place is bankrupting whole families at this point.

Personally, I’ve always wanted to go to Hersheypark.

Knotts Berry Farm is fun.

I used to want to go on a cruise until ALL THAT STUFF happened.

But even if you just put the money you don’t spend into a Roth IRA and plan for your children’s future… You don’t have to feel like you wasted your life.

You’re still alive right now.

And the idea that "The End of the World has to happen or I’ve wasted my whole life" is a false concept they’re force-feeding into your brain BECAUSE THEY WANT THE END OF THE WORLD TO HAPPEN SO THEY CAN GO TO HEAVEN. And that’s manipulative and gross.

Climate change is real. Raw milk gives you diarrhea. Vitamin K keeps babies from bleeding to death. UBI is a good thing. Caring about other people is awesome. You don’t have to be a shithead to be happy.

I don’t know. I should not get so spun up by videos other idiots are putting on the Internet.

It’s just very frustrating that there might be people that watch those videos and think "Yeah, that person is JUST LIKE ME. Next time I’m standing in line, I’m going to start loudly screaming about God and Jesus and ‘If you believe in Jesus, clap your hands!’" like Jesus is Tinkerbell or something.

Performative Christianity is the most tiresome Christianity. Mostly because it goes hand-in-hand with apocalypse cult Christianity and they’re both really annoying and bad for the world in general.

Have your religion. Eat it too. Just stop trying to make fetch happen. And by fetch, I mean The End of Days. You’re not going to go to Heaven. God is smarter than that. He can read your thoughts. He knows your INTENTIONS.

When they talk about the Rapture happening and the non-believers being left to suffer on Earth for the next 2000 years with a bunch of demons running around? They’re talking about themselves. They are the demons.

Human demons.

Self-will means you have the ability to self-examine your own thoughts and feelings and control yourself so you don’t do evil things. There aren’t demons inside people making them do the things they do; they consciously make those choices for themselves.

There are no demons fighting to get into a person. The person is the demon they make of themselves.

So yeah. Performative religious expressions don’t make me think those people are good Christians. I just think they’re vain and full of pride that they need to get a grip on.

"I’m here to buy a cup of coffee, not to listen to your performative religious hysteria. You sound fake as fuck. Go home."
