Me watching videos, and Layze asked "Why do mukbangers eat like that?" and it’s like "Dude, it’s science."
They have to gobble the food down as fast as possible because they have a short window–about twenty minutes–before the messages from their stomach reach their brain saying "I’m full!" So you’ve gotta pack as much food as possible in as soon as possible before your brain starts receiving the danger signals and your body starts feeling uncomfortable and you can’t eat anymore.
It’s sad how porn ruins everything.
Originally, mukbang videos were a streamer eating a meal while talking to their viewers. So people alone at home, or who have trouble eating and can be helped by eating with company, could watch the videos and feel as though they were enjoying a meal with a friend.
Now it’s all feeder content. That’s why they cram as much as they can into their mouths, to the point that they can barely breathe, and they let the sauces drip all over their fingers and get all over their faces. Or they have to eat MASSIVE amounts of food, rather than enjoying a normal meal with their viewers. It’s so sad.
I enjoy when someone does "Meal and a –"-type content. In the old days, it would be a group of people on TV, and they would pop up during breaks in a movie, and they would talk about what was just watched or they would cook and eat a recipe. It was casual entertainment, and maybe you could get a new recipe to try.
But now, there’s so many AI slop recipe videos where if you actually tried to make the food, it would taste like garbage. Or there’s just someone cramming 10 pounds of food into their body through their mouth hole as fast as possible, making loud chewing sounds, and moaning as they desperately try to breathe. It’s so distasteful.
Dinner and a movie shows used to be so fun. I miss it.
