Begging the electors to help us is not a useless endeavor. #hamiltonelectors and #faithlesselectors are simply electors.<\/p>\n
Their job is to ensure that that United States of America doesn’t end up under the command of a madman or a man with debts owed to foreign powers.<\/p>\n
The job of President of the United States of America is to watch after the well-being of America and its peoples. All of its peoples.<\/p>\n
There are to be no debts owed to foreign powers. And no personal favors curried.<\/p>\n
There is to be loyalty to the American people and to their long term wellbeing.<\/p>\n
To which, I am afraid of someone that speaks of dismantling much needed social services.<\/p>\n
I am afraid of the destruction of Medicaid, Medicare, and financial stability.<\/p>\n
I am disgusted by the idea of charter schools and Golden Tickets and children being bred like livestock to serve their rich benefactors.<\/p>\n
I am terrified of the ignorance and disrespect displayed to the various bureaus under Presidential purview.<\/p>\n
The Department of Energy (DoE) does not<\/i> handle electricity. It handles nuclear weapons<\/i><\/b>. And the fact that Donald Trump didn’t know what the department does yet opened his mouth…<\/p>\n
He is a bull in a China shop.<\/p>\n
He does not understand the scope of responsibility he’s taken on.<\/p>\n
He doesn’t get to sit in the big chair and tell people to make things happen anymore.<\/p>\n
Because when he says things, we all suffer.<\/p>\n
Fomenting under unrest. Drowning in debt. Starved for education about the simplest of things.<\/p>\n
While greed and decadence destroy all that we’ve built.<\/p>\n
Tumbling us back in time to the “Good Old Days” – when there was prohibition, and gangsters, and hanging people like strange fruit from a tree.<\/p>\n
A time of medical ignorance and negligence and a dearth of true knowledge.<\/p>\n
When the Internet was slow and TV only had seven watchable stations.<\/p>\n
When parents were telling their children that abstinence was key, homosexuality was the devil’s plaything, and Aberforth was fucking that goat.<\/p>\n
Everything seems great. If you’re rich.<\/p>\n
So yes. I will continue to pester about faithless electors and Hamilton electors and “Please oh Lord, someone save us!” until after January at least.<\/p>\n
