I don’t know why strangers on the Internet care so much about children’s genitals, but it makes me very concerned for the safety of children.
"I don’t understand the thoughts and feelings of other people, but I feel like I’m the best person to tell other people how they should live their lives."
I’m not trans, but I care about trans rights because trans rights are human rights, and I am a human, so I care about human rights a lot.
That they are using a tiny percentage of the population as an "excuse" to fuck up our country really disgusts me.
"Then why don’t those trans people stop being trans? Why can’t they just pretend to be normal like we do?"–Because we’re supposed to be about the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Because every person should have the freedom to be their true self, even if that true self isn’t what other people want for themselves?
As long as someone’s happiness doesn’t involve skinning and eating household pets or pedophiling the neighborhood children, who cares if someone wants to wear a dress or pants or makeup or a clean face?
If seeing someone wearing makeup or brightly colored clothes triggers you that badly… Rather than screaming in the street that strangers should die, you should self-reflect on yourself and why you think and feel the way you do. Because the issue isn’t that someone wants to use the bathroom, it’s that you feel the need to be the bathroom police. Like, why do you want to stand outside the bathroom door examining the lines of people’s clothes for bumps and bulges rather than living your own life? Why are you being such a fucking weirdo?
Someone pointed out that all those people going on about sexuality being a choice and that everyone should choose to be straight because God cares about heterosexuality are probably closeted bisexuals. It’s the only way they could so easily say that they choose to be straight. Because they have no issue being in relationships with men or women and then choosing to be with someone of a different gender is no big deal to them. No sacrifice at all because they are sexually attracted to both.
Meanwhile, "If you are so sure that sexuality is a choice, then prove it by having sex with both a man and a woman. Otherwise you can’t really be sure that you made an unbiased choice. And if sexuality isn’t a choice, then it’s how God made a person, and how can you stand in front of the will of God and say that He’s wrong?"
I can kind of understand super-religious people butting into other peoples’ business about their sexuality, because Christianity is built on the idea of getting all up in other peoples’ business. There’s a whole offshoot that decides whether you get to go into Heaven depending on how many people you bring into your downline. You are obligated to always be actively recruiting people into the religion. And the way modern Bible-based religions are forming themselves involves going to other countries and "spreading the Word" in return for kudos points.
But a lot of the people that are anti-trans and anti-gay and anti-everything are not part of organized religions. They are believers in atheism and transcendentalism and eugenics and proto-science and they use real life issues as a crowbar to remove the woodwork so they can fuck up the plumbing of life.
They are using the existence of trans people as a way to take away peoples’ rights.
- The right to choose. To choose to have a child. To choose to be pregnant. To choose to prioritize your own health and life over what is essentially a parasite. ("But that’s a baby!" No, it’s not a baby until it leaves the body and is able to live on its own. Until that happens, it is required to take resources from the host body.)
- The right to not marry. Until like the 1960s, women were essentially forced to marry a man to be able to survive in society. Without a man, they were not able to have bank accounts, buy cars and houses, or really live comfortably in the United States. And now they want to force CHILDREN to marry adults (with parental permission!) and part of that is that as a minor, the child cannot get a divorce until they reach the legal age of 18. And in that time they can face physical and mental abuse without legal recourse.
- The right to dress the way you want. Unless someone is showing genitals, or they’ve got tons of body hair and flaking skin that’s getting everywhere, who cares what they wear? Mind your own business and move on with your day.
- The right to vote. They are trying to take away peoples’ right to vote. They don’t want women or minorities to vote. They want to take away the voting rights of people born in the country whose parents were immigrants.
- The right to use a nickname. Ronald DeSantis and people like him are very hot to take away peoples’ rights to be called by chosen names rather than the names their parents gave them. And the hypocrisy is that he goes by the name "Ron," likely because he’s a Harry Potter fan. So all the people named Joseph, James, William, Margaret, Patricia, Catherine, Beverly, Andrew, Robert, Richard, Hypatia, Glorious Asshole of God, Esther, Donald, Reginald, Lawrence, Abigail, Bertrand, Adolph, Earnest, Fallopia, Gerswin, Hardon, Inthropop, Jurisprudense, Khristofer, Lucifer, Michael, Nostromodious, Oswaldinaria, Pinnocchio, Quirkyjurky, Rathwilliam, Samuel, Tittibakka, Uttilitia, Veronica, Winterhardrtbeat, X Æ A-12, Yoraldan, Zanthor… You can no longer shorten your name or choose to be called by something that feels more like you.
- The right to use a public bathroom. They scream "You can only use the bathroom that corresponds to the genitals you were born with!" because they have no idea that trans men exist. Their whole thing is "What if a cishet rapist man puts on a dress so he can go into a women’s restroom and ASSAULT someone? What then?" And it’s like "If someone wants to commit sexual assault, a sign on a bathroom door is not going to stop them. They are ready and willing to commit a heinous crime, and a painted sign is not going to be a deterrent if they choose to do awful things. I am more concerned about random weirdos peeking through the stall doors to check my genitals than I am about someone putting on a disguise to get past the door signs." And most of the stories I’ve heard about people being assaulted in public bathrooms is trans people and non-gender conforming people being assaulted by rabid packs of weirdos. Like, ACAB even if they’re just people acting as bathroom police. Fuck off where you belong. You are the problem. Learn how to keep your hands and your words to yourself and let people use bathrooms as they are intended: a place to urinate, defecate, change your clothes in a stall, and wash your hands. And for the love of god: Put your fucking phone away. You are being a creep.
I don’t want to have to care about trans rights. Because trans people are human people and they deserve full rights without weirdos questioning their right to live in peace.
Every person deserves life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And if you don’t agree with that, you’re a terrible person and you should fix yourself.
Because when you fight to take away peoples’ rights… you are fighting to open the door that takes away your own rights.
Stop being a fucking clown.
Human rights are human rights.
