So basically, now I have a blog, a forum => http://harper-kingsley.1061646.n5.nabble.com/ <= and am working on making a webpage. In all, that’s a pretty full plate, amirite?

Don’t worry though. This blog here will continue to be what it is–a place where I spill out the inner workings of my mind when I feel like there’s something to spill. The forum will be a place where I can chat lightly with anyone willing to talk to me (I’m so lonely!), and the webpage will have individual pages for each novel/novella as they are published and will be a rather more formal setting than this blog or the forum.

UPDATES: Wrapping up editing on “Pulse of the City.” I know I said this before, but I got sidetracked (MAKING A FORUM!) working on “The Wedding” which should be coming out in a couple days as well. So in all, that’s pretty cool. “Pulse of the City” available tomorrow, “The Wedding” the day after, then I have to wrap up “The Honeymoon.” Very much of the good all around.

Working on the finally edits of “Pulse of the City” and “Heroes & Villains: The Wedding.” It’s taken me a lot longer than expected. I mean, sure I’ve been distracted a lot by things happening on the internet, but there’s other real life things that keep getting in the way. Mostly my sudden attacks of the naps or the snacks.

Even right now I’m taking a momentary break from my task. South Park is on–“Marjorine” episode. And my eyes are getting heavier and heavier and I just can’t seem to stop blinking.

Do you know what I really need to save me?

Red Bull Man.

If only he would swoop in through the window and present me with a cooler of Red Bulls. That would be absolutely and totally awesome.

I have so much stuff to do, but I can’t seem to keep myself from being distracted.

In point of fact, I just wasted an inordinate amount of time reading a Naruto fanfic. Why, you ask? Because it was really, really good. So good that I’m honestly considering asking the author of it if they want to work on a project with me.

I don’t know how I would do with a co-author, but I’m willing to try something like that and see what happens.

Since it’s kind of the thing to do, I thought that I might talk about some of my self-publishing trials and tribulations.

Why would I self-publish? Because it takes forever to get any kind of real response from agents and publishing companies. Plus, I have a hard time classifying some of my work. Fantasy? Sci-fi? Gay? Homo-erotic? Thriller? Suspense? Mystery? Contemporary? Blah, blah, blah. Let’s just say that I write a mish-mash of genres, and I don’t stick to one genre or one type of writing for every project.

My biggest fear is being labeled because I want the freedom to write whatever I want to write.

Back in the day I was really fond of writing about vampires and werewolves. Now I’ve drifted away from the genre-typing and moved on to different things. So to be pigeon-holed by a genre I don’t indulge much in anymore? Very frustrating.

What do I hope to get out of writing? I want people to read what I write. I want to hear back from readers that have enjoyed reading the stories I’ve crafted. But even if no one in the entire world ever read anything I wrote… I would still write. Because at the end of the day writing is such a part of my identity that it’s not what I do, it’s who I am.
