Begging the electors to help us is not a useless endeavor. #hamiltonelectors and #faithlesselectors are simply electors.

Their job is to ensure that that United States of America doesn’t end up under the command of a madman or a man with debts owed to foreign powers.

The job of President of the United States of America is to watch after the well-being of America and its peoples. All of its peoples.

There are to be no debts owed to foreign powers. And no personal favors curried.

There is to be loyalty to the American people and to their long term wellbeing.

To which, I am afraid of someone that speaks of dismantling much needed social services.

I am afraid of the destruction of Medicaid, Medicare, and financial stability.

I am disgusted by the idea of charter schools and Golden Tickets and children being bred like livestock to serve their rich benefactors.

I am terrified of the ignorance and disrespect displayed to the various bureaus under Presidential purview.

The Department of Energy (DoE) does not handle electricity. It handles nuclear weapons. And the fact that Donald Trump didn’t know what the department does yet opened his mouth…

He is a bull in a China shop.

He does not understand the scope of responsibility he’s taken on.

He doesn’t get to sit in the big chair and tell people to make things happen anymore.

Because when he says things, we all suffer.

Fomenting under unrest. Drowning in debt. Starved for education about the simplest of things.

While greed and decadence destroy all that we’ve built.

Tumbling us back in time to the “Good Old Days” – when there was prohibition, and gangsters, and hanging people like strange fruit from a tree.

A time of medical ignorance and negligence and a dearth of true knowledge.

When the Internet was slow and TV only had seven watchable stations.

When parents were telling their children that abstinence was key, homosexuality was the devil’s plaything, and Aberforth was fucking that goat.

Everything seems great. If you’re rich.

So yes. I will continue to pester about faithless electors and Hamilton electors and “Please oh Lord, someone save us!” until after January at least.

And then I will batten down the hatches and prepare for the long long long long years ahead.

I don’t understand this mentality that has people ruining things for no useful purpose. I mean, unless you’re purposefully trying to undercut peoples’ belief system[1], why mess with the television innocence of Christmas, Easter, the Tooth Fairy, the first day of school, eating in a restaurant, or half a million other things adults ruin for children?

Is it so bad that children have one time of year when they can enjoy themselves and not be horrified by adult foolishness?

When we were kids, we were allowed to enjoy the holiday season.

Nowadays there are commercials in-between movies and shows that are solely intended to ruin the mood. And that’s just disappointing.

[1] If your purpose is to undercut peoples’ belief system, it’s a good to keep in mind that CHILDREN are also seeing your propaganda. And instead of being angry and outraged by your message, they tend to believe it.

Being constantly barraged by negative advertising, fail-videos, fakenews, and — is it any wonder that things are falling apart? The population is being conditioned to experience an Us versus Them mentality in every situation.

* Our movies are good versus bad. Even when “good” is a bad guy.
* Our books feature worlds ruled by a myopic version of fascism, toppled by the little guy.
